The Hollies were one of England’s most prolific hit makers of the sixties but by the time Distant Light had come out Graham Nash and Alan Clarke had already moved on. In spite of the absence of classic Hollie-harmonies or critical ravings, Distant Light remains a forgotten gem…at least for me. In many ways its warm acoustic sound are an extension of the serene cover art. When listening, it’s hard to not to imagine yourself crawling into the cover art for a relaxed summer stroll through the woods.
